Al Hayat Hospital, is located 5.8 km, away from Raffic El Hariri International Airport. It was established by Dr. Antoine Saber in 1967 at Chiah, Beirut, as a maternity of 30 beds. In 1968 and because of the urgent need of the community and our surrounding it was turned to a general hospital. After the end of the Lebanese civil war in 1990, the hospital underwent a rapid expansion, and now it consists of 122 beds.
The hospital treats in excess of 10.000 inpatients a year and offers comprehensive medico-surgical services, maternal (obstetrics and gynaecology with IVF and ICSI center), child health services including high-risk neonates and prematures in an ultimately equipped ICN, cardiac care (coronary + angioplasty), cancer services and an infection disease program.
The hospital serves as a regional center for renal care offering inpatient treatment and dialysis services in addition to the newest generation lithotripsy machine.
The radiology service offers the latest in imaging modalities including (CT-scan, ultrasounds, osteodensitometry, mammography, coronarography and dental scan).
The laboratory and blood bank department (whole blood, fresh frozen plasma and platelets) offer a full array of laboratory investigations.
(Hematology, Biochemistry Serology, Hormonal profile and Bacteriology).
One of the most significant changes in the hospital involved the emergency department, which underwent an expansion that, double the number of treatment rooms.
Al-Hayat hospital in its relentless efforts to improve its services signed an affiliation agreement with CHU Amiens- France to exchange medical expertise and raise the health status at the Lebanese community.
